Embroidery

I worked with Los Angeles based artist Liesel Plambeck to create artwork for screenprinting, sublimation, and embroidery.
These pieces were made purely for the joy of making and they're some of my favorite pieces in the archive.

Farm to Tee
Inspired by my love of Kimchi! The Napa Cabbage, Garlic, and Pepper Tee were painted with watercolor and DTG printed through a vendor in DTLA.
DTG printing was used due to the many shades of the artwork, and for quicker turnaround and lower MOQ.

I Miss My Dog / Cat
Inspired by a love of animals and the very specific need to tell your friends you miss your dog without actually saying it ☺︎
Artwork by Los Angeles-based artist Liesel Plambeck, who collaged the graphics with the kind of sincerity that makes people smile before they even read the text.
Sweatshirts were produced in house and garment dyed, with embroidery executed through a local vendor in Vernon, CA.

For our photoshoot, we had our friends with pets come in and photographed them together!
We donated a portion of our proceeds to the Lange Foundation, a non-profit rescue, based in Los Angeles.

Quilting

Creating outerwear entirely domestically is one of the hardest things to pull off in this industry. Heavier weight construction is costly, labor intensive, and the vendor pool is small.
For FW24, I was determined to end the season with a quilted jacket, so I started researching and eventually connected with a third-generation quilting company in Vernon, CA.
Founded in the 1920s as a mattress quilter, they had recently expanded into apparel production. Through direct negotiation, we were able to lower MOQs and sampling costs to make the development feasible.
The result was one of my most rewarding production experiences to date.

Garment Dye

The vision was simple: reliable basics in natural fibers, made domestically.
Sourcing small MOQs for cotton jersey and fleece locally is notoriously difficult, so I started with deadstock fabric and built the line gradually until customer demand grew enough to meet MOQs for custom fabrications.

Garment dyeing in Los Angeles added another layer of complexity. Finding the right dyehouse meant vetting multiple vendors for quality, reliability, and timeline compatibility. This was process that required patience and persistence. Not to mention, I was educated by the dyehouses on multiple dyeing techniques, especially troubleshooting when it came to production.
Building that vendor relationship was worth every back and forth.

There is nothing quite like a locally made, garment dyed basic! I love the worn in look and feeling of the final piece.
We created Canvas tote bags, Tencel pants, Fleece and French Terry tops and pants, Cotton Jersey tees and tanks, Hemp tees and tanks.
